Hydrodissection is a minimally invasive surgical technique that can be used for brain tumors resection. The Neurosurgery Unit at San Raffaele Hospital is the only Neurosurgical Center at national level using this technique in the neurosurgical field.

Under-pressure saline is injected trough a small nozzle. The high-pressure fluid makes the tissues dissection while preserving blood vessels: the neurosurgeon can control the range of pressure.

This is a promising technique for high-precision surgeries in functional areas of the brain.
